Optimum Gloss Coat

Recently we have been getting a few requests for a blog on Gloss Coat for application and tips....so here we go!!

The first thing I would like to point out is how EASY Gloss Coat is to apply compared to other
coatings. It is also competitively less expensive, which is never a bad thing.

^^Shout out to Prestige Esthetique Automobile ^^

It is a clear coating with at least a 2 year durability that leaves your car looking dipped in gloss. It provides Optimum protection against minor marring and it sheds dirt and water making future washes a breeze.

This reflection is undeniably Optimum Gloss Coat.
Thanks --Beneath The Surface Detailing--
 for this awesome picture!

APPLICATION::

  1. Wash with ONR/WW.
  2. Clay with Optimum Clay Towel and use ONR as lube.
  3. Decontaminate with FerreX.
  4. Correct or polish paint with the Hyper Paint Correction System. (consists of Hyper Compound, Hyper Polish, and GPS)
  5. Wipe off polish residue with your ONR and dry with clean MF.
  6. Apply Gloss Coat to the foam applicator and, working one panel at a time, apply to the paint in a circular motion. (make sure to cover complete panel)
  7. Wait 1-2 minutes for products to cross link. (synergy at its finest!)
  8. Gently wipe away with a low nap MF (250-350 GSM).
  9. Wait ONE WEEK before washing the car again and try to refrain yourself from touching despite the soft slick look!

<<Tips and Info>>

# 1: To intensify the gloss even more, top it with your favorite, non-abrasive finishing wax or sealant! Why mess up the synergy now, get some Optimum (spray) Car Wax and Opti-Seal!!

# 2: It can be applied to all exterior surfaces, however we recommend you use extra care when applying to glass, because improper application can affect visibility.

# 3: Wash Gloss Coat with light to medium cleaners.

# 4: It is a great upgrade sale from a
wax; especially for a leased vehicle because it lasts for 2+ years. --Big D's Mobile Detailing

The Triple Threat

This week I want to enlighten everyone on a process of products that you may or may not already have on your shelf! We have named it.....THE TRIPLE THREAT! (dun dun dun)

THE TRIPLE THREAT

  • ONR/WW
  • Opti-Seal
  • Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer
These three combined will take your vehicle places its never been before. They will give you that Optimum cleanliness, protection, and gloss that your after. And get this....it is only a two step process!!!!!

  1. Wash with ONR/WW, then spray Opti-Seal on  the vehicle while ONR is wet and then dry with your clean MF. This is washing and sealing at the same time. Wait 30 minutes before completing next step.
  2. Apply Instant Detailer by simply spraying a small amount on the vehicle and wiping with your MF.
-Since I have not written anything about ID in the past, I will give you a little info on it. Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer is a quick spray detailer and light waterless wash. It can be used on wet surfaces, paint, metal, glass, and plastics. It's packed with flouropolymers that are extremely slippery. These polymers cause ID to produce a wet-glossy look and will add unbelievable protection.

 THE SYNERGY IS BEAUTIFUL!

Mineral Deposit Remover

MDR

Lets talk mineral deposits. Your probably wondering what they are, and why are they so pesky to remove?? Well, they are mainly consisted of calcium and magnesium and make up what is called "hard water", which creates those annoying, ugly water spots. These minerals harden on your vehicle and are a hassle to get off.  So do not park next to a water sprinkler or wash you car with hard water or this is what you will get: (or do....and just buy some more MDR)

Thankfully, Dr. G has acknowledged this issue and created MDR for your convenience! As all OPT products, it is extremely easy to use and very effective. It is a non-abrasive chemical cleaner that will dissolve and remove water based contaminants without the need to polish or abrade the surface. It makes the surfaces smooth again without affecting or removing the paint!

Can Be Used On

Paint
Glass
Trim
Chrome
Wheels
Toilets
Boats
Faucets/Sinks
Showers/Baths

Stop struggling to remove water spots and go ahead and buy a bottle of MDR. It eliminates the need to use abrasive polishes for the removal of light water spots. Adding it to your collection will only boost your appeal to clients and will really impress them with the results that you provide, like this:

Thanks to Big D's Mobile Detailing for the pictures! Great work!

Application Steps
  1. Apply a quarter size amount onto an applicator pad or clean MF.
  2. Work the product onto the surface for 30-60 seconds.
  3. Allow to dwell.
  4. Wipe off the residue.
  5. Check and see if vehicle is clean and free of mineral deposits.
  6. Wash the surface (with ONR/WW) to remove any remaining chemical residue.
  7. *Optional* -Apply your favorite car wax. (OPT Spray Car Wax, of course)

New Product Release

After much anticipation OPT has released 3 NEW PRODUCTS!!!!!

In this blog particularly, I cannot stress enough the beauty of synergy within our products. Together these products (and all OPT products, for that matter) collaborate and excel each other to enhance the over all performance and appearance.

1. OPTIMUM HYPER COMPOUND

  •  OHP (Optimum Hyper Compound) is the ultimate compound for fast paint correction with few compounding swirls and LOW DUSTING. The real benefit of this product is how fast it works and like all other OPT products, how much easier it makes your job.
  • The super-micro abrasives cut quickly to remove 1200 grit sanding scratches, acid rain, and severe swirls and holograms.
  • Provides an easy to refine surface.
  • Used with the Foam Core Wool Pad or the Orange Waffle pad, Hyper provides both cut and gloss, without dust or hazing.

Hyper Compound

Before and After

just ONE PASS!

-Shout out to Joel, good work!-

2.  HYPER WOOL FOAM PAD

  • New formula short napped wool face, with a soft foam interface to follow surface contours.
  • This cutting pad in combination with Optimum Hyper Compound, Intense Polish, or Hyper Polish can be used for a variety of correction challenges.
  • Combined with OHP it will quickly remove 1500G sanding marks and provide a surface that requires final polishing prior to coating or wax application.
  • The wool surface provides unequaled cut while the foam backing keeps the pad cool for longer passes and greater efficiency.
  • Generates an advantage for you in longer working life of the pad and less working time for you.

3.  INTENSIVE POLISH

  • Cutting polish that provides a gloss finish with moderately aggressive cutting abilities!
  • The first and only one-step spray polish (patent pending) in the marketplace.
  • Designed to remove 1200 grit and finer scratches in one or two passes while creating a great finish in seconds.
  • Cuts through wet sanding marks and deep scratches.
  • My favorite thing to say about our products; How does this make your job easier?? Because it is a spray, it provides ease while using and reduces the amount of product (cost efficiency) needed to a fraction. Just one spray is enough to cover the entire pad making the whole pad do the cutting and eliminates dry buffing.

Simple Steps To Follow

  1. Wash the vehicle with ONR (Optimum No Rinse)
  2. Decontaminate the paint using an Optimum Clay Towel and the ONR on the surface from the wash as the lubricant.
  3. Determine the level of correction required an start with your first correction step over the ONR dampened surface, no need to dry or tape off the vehicle.
  4. Dampen your chosen pad with ONR wash (preferably in a pad washer) and simply spray 1 shot of Hyper Compound on the pad, no need to prime or use a large amount of product. Less is best.
  5. Move your Zentool slowly over the surface with a tool speed only as high as needed to allow the backing plate to turn. Excessive speed is counterproductive as it creates heat. Do not add pressure, the weight of the tool is sufficient.
  6. Clean pad of excess product and paint residue after every section and keep clean and damp.
  7. Once the correction step is complete, start polishing. No need to wipe off minimal Hyper Compound residue.
  8. Test a spot to determine whether you need Hyper Intensive Polish or Hyper Polish (Hyper Intensive Polish is more intense) to refine the surface.
  9. Polishing step should require minimal time and passes, as any correction should be taken care of in the first steps.

NOTE: You do not have to use the Polish after the Compound if you have already achieved your desired results. They do compliment each other, but each also works very well without the other.

Opti-Bond OR Tire Shine

On this blogging Monday I want to bring up a debate I have seen many times by our followers. The big debate is OPTI-BOND OR TIRE SHINE?? These products are similar in some ways but deliver very different results. Which look you choose is your personal preference, but we offer both!

They are both designed to make dressing tires the new easiest part of detailing

  • Both are water based, eco-friendly, made in USA, don't sling, UV and Ozone protectants, and neither contain VOC's (which are known to crack vinyl and rubber) or any other hazardous compound.
  • Use both on tires, wheel wells, interior and exterior trim, any vinyl and dashboards.
  • Neither will alter the color of the tire with repeated applications
  • Both are excellent tire protectants
--This week we Opti-Bonded a '07 Honda Pilot. This particular vehicle had a good amount of sun damaged trim and vinyl and Opti-Bond brought it back to life and will further protect it from the sun. There was slight clouding and Opti-Bond corrected most of it with just a swipe of our sponge. Incredibly easy for incredible results.--

 << Before and After >>

But, lets get down to the nitty gritty of these Optimum products (see what I did there).

OPTI-BOND
  • Thick, glue like substance
  • Lasts longer ( up to 3 weeks) than Tire Shine, because OB BONDS to the tire. (Who would have thought?)
  • GLOSSY MATTE FINISH, NEVER GREASY LOOKING
  • Diluted 1:1, it can be applied by a spray gun, which disperses the product as a fine mist. This method is preferred by  most professionals because it is super cost effective. Just make sure to let it sit a few minutes, then follow with a foam applicator.
  • Does not attract dust or dirt.
  • keeps its good looks as long as it stays dry. If it rains it will start to come off and leave a nice matte professional black color behind because it does bond to the tire. This makes the next application easier and quicker to apply!
TIRE SHINE
  • Moderately thick spray
  • Shorter life span (up to 2 weeks)
  • SATIN FINISH for drivers that prefer a deep, wet looking gloss.
  • Keeps your tires in "like new" condition and gives you that freshly dressed look all the time.
  • Spray on then go about other tasks while letting it work for about 15 or 20 minutes (depending on weather conditions). Then come back and smooth it out with your tire sponge.

--Shout out to Big D's Mobile Detailing, thanks for the video comparison!!!!

Tips and uses for both products!

Tip 1:: For Opti-Bond, if you are applying to trim areas and get any on the windows, just simply take a microfiber and buff it off.

Tip 2:: Use OB through a sprayer for “off-road” tires with deep sidewall ridges and extra raised lettering.

Tip 3:: Make sure you clean with either ONR or Power Clean before hand to ensure the products perform correctly.

Tip 4:: If you are not using a sprayer, then spray product directly into applicator then wipe on tire.

Tip 5:: It may be easier to apply Optimum Protectant Plus to window trim areas because they are typically thin. This product will deliver the same great results, with just a little less clean up work for you.

Opti-Seal

On the blog this week we will be analyzing yet another one of our versatile products,
  Opti-Seal.
Looking for a paint sealant and protector that is extremely easy to apply?? Well then this product is for you! One of the reasons Opti-Seal is incredibly popular is because the application process is so easy. There are 3 steps in the process: "Spray, Wipe, Walk." --say it with us! "Spray, Wipe, Walk!". Good, now those are some instructions that anyone can remember. Seriously, that is all it takes to achieve that slick look you're after. The polymers begin cross-linking as soon as it hits the paint and leaves no residue to buff off. However, this product is not a miracle shine worker.

It IS a miracle paint protector, though. But, it can also go on glass surfaces! This past week we applied Opti-Seal to our front and back windshields and the results were quite impressive. Driving through a decently bad rain storm (MPH was between 50-70) was a breeze for my new Opti-Sealed windshield. I never had to use my wipers, which was a first for me. Lets face it, it is annoying to find the right speed to set your wipers on and sometimes your car doesn't even offer the "in between" speed your really wanting. Opti-Seal eliminates that issue!

What Opti-Seal is going to do for your vehicle is amazing. Rain can literally do the washing for you, all while your doing other things you love. That is exactly what Opti-Seal can give you; a little extra time to spend with family or playing a round of golf with your buddies because rain is doing the work for you. If you still wanted to wash your vehicle then it will ensure that your wash time is cut short. Apply OS and see how easy the dirt sheds during washes.

                                              <<Check out that beading!>>

A major compliment this product gets is it is very cost efficient and lasts about 2-3 months. Even on a vehicle that is parked outside, the life of the product remains the same. In our 8oz bottle (24.99) you can Opti-Seal 56 cars! For professional detailers, there is a huge profit margin for you and a great selling point at a small cost. Make Opti-Seal something that you put on every car and watch your first-time client become a repeat customer.

TIPS FOR OPTI-SEAL

Tip #1:: Wash with ONR Wash and Wax, apply Opti-Seal, then wax OR apply a second coat of Opti-Seal. If you are looking for the quicker option; the two layers of OS is for you.

Tip #2:: LESS IS MORE! Opti-Seal is meant to be applied THIN. You are using enough product if the sponge is gliding nicely over the vehicle, when it starts to drag and have resistance, then respray. If you see streaking of any kind you are applying it too heavily. If this occurs, just wipe excess off with a clean microfiber.

Tip #3:: Spray your applicator pad with a little product and then apply spray to the vehicle. (Thanks Steve--see video)

Tip #4:: Cure time for Opti-Seal is safely, about one hour in all weather situations.

Tip #5:: Thoroughly wash out the applicator sponge after use. This prevents any dried build up to occur and keeps the sponge in perfect condition for the next application.

Tip #6:: Create a window cleaner with Opti-Seal and ONR mix! 1oz:32oz; Seal:ONR. Shake the bottle before using. This makes the two products even more cost efficient for you.--Thank you Aznew Detailing!

NEW Tip #7:: You can use Opti-Seal as a drying aid. First apply ONR/WW, then before it dries spritz some Opti-Seal on, lastly buff with your dry microfiber. Notice that the water that was beaded before, now is sliding right off the car. Quite an amazing combo and is incredibly time conserving for you because your cleaning, sealing, and drying at the same time!!!

No Rinse Wash and Shine

This is the official Blogspot for Optimum Polymer Technologies headquarters. In this blog we are going to discuss and explore all of the obvious, and not so obvious uses that OPT products are capable of.

The first we want to dive into is one of our best sellers, the No Rinse Wash and Shine or as we call it "ONR" for "Optimum No Rinse". Funny enough the No Rinse Wash requires, wait for it.... NO RINSING. This means that it requires NO WATER, NO H2O, period; (for rinsing). How awesome is that?? Also, all of Dr. G's (CEO) products are eco-friendly. It only takes 1 to two gallons of water to wash your entire vehicle when it would regularly take up to 100 gallons of water. Talk about water conservation--*hint hint* ((if you know anyone in California or anywhere there is under strict water restrictions then share our products with them!)). After you wash your car you can take the waste water in the bucket and use it to water your lawn. ONR has Nitrogen in it, which will actually help your grass grow!

To get a little technical for a second, ONR is a fantastic car wash made of substantive polymers which bond to the paint and protect it during the wash. It has to be mixed 1 oz ONR to 2 gallons of water, but does not require a hose or rinsing after you mix the two.  Just simply wipe on with your microfiber towel and then dry using a clean microfiber towel. The miracle part is due to No Rinse's flexibility- it can be mixed into a clay lube, a quick detailer, glass cleaner, waterless wash, etc. It works safely on all exterior and interior surfaces.

Tip 1:: After washing the exterior use a microfiber (OPT microfiber, of course) to wipe down all interior surfaces- seats, dash, carpet, virtually anything inside the vehicle for added cleanliness and shine!

Tip 2:: Create a prespray/prewash by mixing 2oz ONR with 14oz+ water in a spray bottle. BEFORE washing the vehicle with ONR, spray the mixture on hard to clean, bad areas of the vehicle: Bugs, bird poop, sap, wheels, etc. Prespray anywhere that you think
would need a little extra "elbow grease".
You only need to wait about 2 minutes before totally
washing with ONR for the prespray to start working.
So, let your spray do the extra work for you because
what you will find is that these hard to scrub, extra
elbow grease areas will now just simply wipe clean
to keep any damaging or etching into the paint that
could otherwise happen with rough scrubbing to remove
such spots!

 ---THAT IS NOT ALL--

This spray is also used as a light detailer. Keep a bottle
in the vehicle and spot clean when your on the go.
